Fiske, 24, was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the second round of the 2024 NFL Draft on Friday evening. "I had never been around that much money," Fiske told MarketWatch last month. Together, they've discussed "how my financial life is going to change" upon signing an NFL contract, Fiske noted. "I'm putting money into mutual funds, index funds, high-yield savings accounts and maybe exploring new investment opportunities, too," he said, adding: "I also have a Roth IRA ... But that doesn't mean he won't splurge on a fun purchase: He's an avowed fan of Nike's Air Jordan 1 sneakers, for example.

That would mean a likely contract of around $8 million over four years, including a $2.7 million signing bonus, according to MarketWatch . The idea of young athletes reaping instant riches has long been an annual subplot of the NFL draft. The money I received gave me a peace of mind I did not have previously," Fiske told Business Insider. Though he made some savvy choices, Fiske admitted he made "a few mistakes" early on after receiving his NIL money. "I'm sure I'll give in once I see more 0s on my account," Fiske told MarketWatch.

A Team USA bodysuit is reigniting a conversation about the design of women's athletic outfits. Following the reveal of the showy unitard, athletes quipped that they would definitely need a thorough wax to wear the women's piece. Jordana Katcher, Nike's vice president for global sports apparel, also told the Post that several women athletes had requested the unitard specifically. Black women athletes are often hyper-sexualized or painted as angry or evil. Women athletes in sports like gymnastics, volleyball, and track and field are sometimes expected to wear bikini bottoms or short leotards.

Nike said it's just one of many options — and competitors will have access to tailoring. AdvertisementNike's new uniform for female track and field athletes at this year's Olympics may be a bit too skimpy for athletes, some of whom called the high-cut outfits sexist. But the sportswear brand said it's actually offering an array of choices for athletes — with tailoring options on hand at this year's games. Related storiesIt reignited a familiar debate on social media surrounding uniforms for female athletes. In addition to an array of choices, the company told BI it will have tailoring options for Olympic and Paralympic athletes.

Nike CEO John Donahoe on Friday blamed remote work for the company falling behind on innovation, saying that it's tough to be disruptive when people are working from home. In an interview with CNBC's Sara Eisen from Paris, Donahoe was asked about the company's lack of fresh new products in its assortment, which had been a concern among investors. "What's been missing is the kind of bold, disruptive innovation that Nike's known for and when we look back, the reasons are fairly straightforward," said Donahoe. "In hindsight, it turns out, it's really hard to do bold, disruptive innovation, to develop a boldly disruptive shoe on Zoom," Donahoe said. So we realigned our company, and over the last year we have been ruthlessly focused on rebuilding our disruptive innovation pipeline along with our iterative innovation pipeline."

I felt that if they have to start embracing Foot Locker more, eh, man, if that's the strategy. Evercore ISI turned "more confident" on Foot Locker after it gathered positive takeaways from meeting with the FL's management team. Disappointing sales outlooks from Lululemon and Nike prompted CNBC's Jim Cramer on Friday to wonder whether the big athletic apparel makers are ceding ground to lower-priced competitors. "Nike, Lulu — are these companies that are just charging too much when others are coming underneath them with good product? Shares of Lululemon tanked more than 16% Friday after issuing light current-quarter and full-year guidance after the closing bell Thursday. The company's finance chief said weaker U.S. traffic and a challenging consumer environment has led to the "broad-based" slowdown. Lululemon's earnings report and outlook was "surprising," Cramer said, considering the Vancouver, Canada-based firm has been viewed as a "high-growth company."

It refers to the estimated future volatility of the underlying asset through a future (expiration) date. Leaving the fancy options mumbo jumbo to the side, it's just another way options traders think about the price of an option . It is because inputting volatility solves for price, or inputting price solves for volatility, that options traders tend to think of the two interchangeably. Nike is cutting 2% of its current workforce, or more than 1,500 jobs, as part of a broader restructuring, the company said late Thursday. Cuts in Nike's EMEA region will be on a different timeline based on local labor laws, the company said. In December, Nike unveiled a broad restructuring plan to cut costs by about $2 billion over the next three years. Shortly before the restructuring was announced, The Oregonian reported that Nike had been quietly laying off employees over the past several weeks and had signaled that it was planning for a broader restructuring. It's not clear how many jobs in total Nike has cut since December.

Many brands dream of getting their films on Netflix, where even relatively small viewership numbers are bigger than they'd get on a rival streamer. Brands often work alongside traditional Hollywood players, which lends credibility to film projects.
